| Lunch is Better | |
| I prefer lunch over the popular breakfast menu, but it will do in a pinch. Older people seem to love this place more than the younger folks. It would be a grand place to bring parents and children. |

| Surprised about the reviews | |
| I went here for breakfast, had the corned beef/hollandaise and haven't been able to order anything else since - even though it's not on all the menus.
It is always great and so I'm surprised about the reviews; I guess I got the luck of the draw. |

| Loved it for Life | |
| I have been going there for years! It is a classic icon of West Seattle life. The food has always been great, the atmosphere has been perfect - NON SMOKING - and the staff has been excellent. The are always helpful, even when they are slammed. It is one of the best restuarants in this location I have been to. I continue to eat there, and will keep going there.
I don't know what all the haters have against this place, sounds like they are looking for a Denny's style local. Which is fine if you like to smell like cigarettes for the rest of the day.
The only complaint I can really have is that they use an ice tea I don't like - but oh well.
Cheers |

| You couldn't pay me to eat there | |
| Really nasty food...my mother in law loved it and my wife thought it wasn't too bad until she went back again and got sick... |

| Absolutely one of the worst. | |
| The first time I ate at Charlestown, there was large curly hair in my pasta dish. The waiter brought me a new one, and didn't offer to comp me even for a drink at least. The service is confusing, the food incredibly bad, although their burgers are all right, and the atmosphere...sickly. They need new management or new owners maybe new chefs or maybe the place could just shut down.
The second time I went there, in hopes of them absolving their previous impression on me, I stuck with a sandwhich, the philly cheese steak and a vanilla milk shake. They brought me chocolate, and when I informed them I ordered vanilla, instead of bringing me one, they tried to force the chocolate one on me. I didn't want to make a scene, so I took it. There are about five waiters per table, and they get everything confused.
Stay away from this place. really.
Just a ghastly place to spend your money and feed yourself at. |

| Old people food...there I said it! | |
| This place stinks! The food is overpriced and bland. If you're old then you'll love it! The only thing redeeming is the service. |

| Breakfast | |
| Amazing amount of delicious food for the low prices; fantastic clam chowders; eggs galore; and great breakfast combinations. |

| Good chowder, depressing atmosphere | |
| I really liked the chowder. But the one time I went there, the place was too brightly lit with harsh flourescents, and the only other patrons were a mom wtih her tantrum-throwing child and a family who brought grandma and grampa out for lunch, neither of whom looked like they should have left their nursing home nor wanted to be there. It was very sad and pretty much ruined the entire experience. |
