Best Food in West Seattle
My husband and I come to Ephesus often, all of their dishes are excellent and the service is great. I have tried almost every resturant in West Seattle and this is the best.

Nice place, will try again
After one visit, I found myself preferring Kokoras down the street. BUT that's not say anything negative about Ephesus. It's a nice atmosphere with decent service. I got the chicken kabob, which was very good. But the Ephesus salad was extremely plain, the vinaigrette dressing lacked any flavor. But overall it was a pleasant dining experience and I'd try the place again. (Maybe next time I'll try the Ceasar salad instead.)

Totally Delicious
We consider dining at Ephesus to be a big treat, with no risks. Every single time we've eaten there, the food has been fantastic. It is head and shoulders above most any other restaurant in West Seattle. The Ephesus platter and dolmas are tantalizingly good! The Adana kabobs are one of our favorites-the food just melts in the mouth. We have never had a bad experience there, ever.

Love this place !
Consistantly good food. Kabobs are the best. Love the appetizers. They are family friendly & I have taken my 2 year old several times. I wish I had discovered it sooner but couldn't fathom really good food in a house next to Rite-Aid. How wrong I was. Glad they are in W.Seattle.

Fantastic Food and Service
My friend and I tried this place for the first time and what a treat it was. Our server was great! He made suggestions and you could tell he really liked his job. The portions were huge so I had a delicious lunch leftover! The chicken was so tender it just melts in your mouth. And the sauces...!! Wow, I will definitely go there again.

Best Hummus I've Ever Had
I was looking for a new restaurant to check out in West Seattle and stumbled onto this fantastic Turkish place right on California Ave. I have driven by there a gazillion times on my way to various spots in West Seattle, and never gave it a second glance. Perhaps the pink exterior paint job turned me off, but after discovering there was a Turkish restaurant right in West Seattle, I had to check it out. I'm 50% Turkish, and my friend is in the process of planning a trip to Turkey, so I figured she'd be up for a little epicurious adventure. And yes, it is definitely pink on the outside for some reason. It looked tacky to me, so I never thought of going inside before. But I was determined, so we went. Here's the first great thing about Ephesus -- off-street free parking, and plenty of it. If that's not reason enough to try a new Seattle restaurant, I don't know what is! So, we walk through the front door, and once inside, the memory of the pink exterior vanishes instantly, as the interior decor is beautiful. They have these gorgeous ornate wood/leather tables and high-back chairs that are amazing. I wonder if they're from Turkey? I should have asked. I think it would be fun to go here with a big party and get the big table in the back room. I think I would also like to go back this summer as I heard a rumor there is a pretty garden out the back window that makes for a pretty view. We were seated in a booth and had prompt wonderful service throughout our visit. They have several Washington wines available, and even their house wine is a Washington Merlot. I had a glass of the house red wine - they call it the Ephesus - and it was pretty good. Then we ordered. We got the hummus and pita appetizer to share. It was delicious. Delicious is such an overused word in society, so I need to emphasize here that this hummus was the best hummus I have ever had in my entire life. In my entire life. And let me remind you that i'm turkish. I've eaten a lot of hummus. TRUST me, if you like hummus, you must go here immediately and have some, your tastebuds will thank you. For the main course I had the lamb kebab and my friend had the mixed kebab (lamb, beef, and chicken) and both were delicious. Perfectly spiced, mouth watering. For dessert I had the baklava and turkish coffee. Both were good. My sister makes the best baklava on the planet, so I'm not a good judge of other baklava, but it was good. My friend had something chocolate for dessert and really loved it, can't remember what it was. Food, service, and interior decor were all absolutely fabulous. This is authentic and wonderful. However, such wonderful food is not cheap. My share of the bill came to $40 with tip and tax. That was for a glass of wine, 1/2 the appetizer, main course, dessert and turkish coffee. If you just go for the main course, it's less that $20. But you MUST get the hummus if you go!

Great Food!
Ephesus is my favorite restaurant in the Seattle area. Everything is made fresh daily. The appetizers are delicious, especially the pitas and hummus. The shrimp scampi is mouth wateringly succulent. All of the entrees are amazing and the atmosphere is fun and relaxing. Sometimes the help is lacking but the owner always does what he can to make your evening enjoyable and memorable.

This one's a gem!
Great food, even the rice is spectacular--and I'm not usually a rice eater. Lamb kabobs, Tas Chicken are my favorites. The owner lavishes attention on the details of taste. Great space and interesting rugs.

The only reason this restraunt is not more popular is location. If it were on the beach at Alki, it would be full. It is a large converted house on California Avenue just a few blocks south of the Alaska Junction. I like the atmosphere. The staff is friendly but discrete. The food here is delightful and consistently excellent as is the service. The seafood kabobs are, in my opinion, the best seafood in West Seattle. The lamb is delicious. I have never been disappointed with the food at Ephesus and I have been back many times. Usually there is enough space that reservations are unnecessary but on special occasions such as Mothers Day or Valentines Day, reservations are required because they will be full until closing.
