| We love Cactus! | |
| My wife and I became fast regulars at Cactus on Alki, after we finally gave them a chance when the hype died down. We love the food, drinks and atmosphere (and I'm certainly not offended that the bartenders use a wine "sample pour." I asked what it was for and they said they are simply trying to maintain consistency). As far as the tequila prices mentioned in another review, Cactus' bar prices are the best value in the city - just compare them to Matador or Mission. The one drawback to Cactus is that when the sun comes out, they are almost too busy. |

| Great Mexican! | |
| I have been to Cactus on Alki 2 or 3 times. The hatch green chili soup is amazing, but hot. The Margaritas are good and the Mojito's are phenominal. Guacamole A+, Carne Asada Salad A+ and the Chorizo enchilada was amazing. |

| My husband and I have visited Cactus twice now, the first time we were pretty disappointed. We had a lack of service from our server which is understandable when they are busy. On my second visit I was with my seventeen year old daughter who order a non alcoholic beveridge by the name of prickley pear I believe, not only was it a very very small drink for the price but she brought it having alcohol in it. No ID was checked and believe me my daughter does not look 21. Overall not too happy about the new spot Cactus on our beach. |

| Great space, good food... but Come on! | |
| I love the layout. Beautiful! Only a couple environmental issues. The bar is so far away from the bartenders they can't even reach across to their customers which tends to let plates pile up longer and get wiped down less frequently. The small tiles and thin metal rail in the bar are elbow killers too. Come with padded elbows. Great food so far and I like the more mature crowd. Great place to watch a game and have some dinner. I'd give it 4 stars but I can't get over how offensive it is to have your glass of wine poured next to a sample pour. And right in front of the customers too! And at $11 or more for a shot of tequila, anybody can afford a quarter ounce more. It is a tequila bar isn't it? It really makes the place look cheap. Like the alcohol costs are more important than pleasing customers. You know what? An occasional over-pour can benefit everyone with a return visit because a customer didn't feel slighted. Or at least train the tenders to know what a pour should look like so they aren't giving away the farm. But I'm less likely to come back feeling they're so cheap and that a happy customer became an afterthought. |
